What Photoshop program(s) are people using?

I have decided to make my own Afro Samurai theme. I have been modding my iPhone since its release, so I am familiar with most things involving the phone and where files are located. I was using other icons/themes people created on here and changed them to fit my desire.

Well, since no one has made an Afro Samurai theme, I wanted to make my own theme from scratch. My question for everyone is what is the best photoshop program that is not too expensive. I downloaded a program called Paint.Net for my Windows Vista computer since it was free. It is ok, but my icons have a white trim around all of them which makes them look cheap. What should I use for a more clean, pro look to my icons that wont cost me an arm and leg. I was thinking about Adobe's program but that is pretty costly.

Thanks to all!!

Photoshop CS. Haven't upgraded to the newest version yet since I'm comfortable using this one. Paint.net is not nearly as robust and more tailored for quick edits.

I've heard a lot of good things about Photoshop Elements and it's not nearly as costly - $100 for the full program.

Thanks man. Yeah, I saw that Paint.Net was not as robust when I started looking at other user created icons. They were 10 times better than the ones I made. Thanks again for the response. Other people please feel free to voice your opinion to my question as well, the more the better!! Cause i sure someone else out there is wondering the same things as I am.

Photoshop CS3 on my Macbook and PaintShopPro X on my Windows systems. Im still learning Photoshop but I find PSP X to do what I need quite well. I wish I could run it on my Macbook. Owning several Windows PC's I cant rationalize running Parallels on the Macbook. I do run Crossover Mac Pro but PSP X is not compatible.

I just have to google for instructions for just about everything I wnat to do n Photoshop. For me, the advantage of PSP X is that it not only has a red eye correction but it does just about the best job on demon "pet eyes". Mostly I photograph anumals so that feature is important to me.
