Theming BiteSMS background...it may be possible
|
So, I was working on a requested theme, and the person asking for the theme asked me to see if I can apply an SMSBackground wallpaper inside of BiteSMS, his texting method of choice.
Well, I set out to find out if this is possible. I searched the popular sites; and found the same thing over and over- It may be possible to change the bubbles, but not the background.
I couldn't see how this was possible. I started by browsing through the images inside of the BiteSMS.app, and couldn't find anything.
So, I thought it was possible that BiteSMS works by referencing files inside of the defauly MobileSMS.app.
I checked out the images inside of the default sms app, and found a 'Default-smsanswer.png'. I converted it into a readable image using an .exe I found on this site somewhere, but couldn't figure out how to change it back into the normal iPhone format. But, needless, I changed it into a bright, obnoxious orange color.
I SSHed back into the default SMS app, and replaced with my new orange image. Lo and behold, the screen begins to load orange, however when the actual conversation pops up it goes back to gray.
But progress has been made!
If anyone has any idea how I can change my image back into the file that normally cannot be parsed by photoshop, or any other idea as to where this image could reside, please, let me know
