stayed up all night trying to figure out how to transfer a downloaded theme from my mac to my iphone, and got nowhere...

1) downloaded fugu & cyberduck, nothing!
2) made sure my iphone had openssh & boss prefs on it
3) went to youtube, looked at different options on how to transfer with & w/o wi-fi... (i don't use wi-fi at home... i have a normal broadband connect to the internet, but i followed one guy's advice on how to pair my mac & my iphone by creating a new network and pairing that way... no cigar!)
4) used the correct info (ip address, root, 22, alpine)...

don't know what i'm doing wrong?.. have i overlooked something simple?.. am i missing something on my iphone or have it setup wrong?.. do i have my mac setup correctly?.. since i have a mac, is the only way to ssh is by having a wi-fi network on the computer?.. maybe i'm not understanding the whole wi-fi thing but i followed all the different ideas and i still can't transfer... HELP!
