how to get rid of the shadows behind icons?

hello!
I don't no if this has alreday been mentioned as i could not find it but i have changed the icon for the remote.app and palringo.app and the icon has changed but the shadow still remains. Could anyone help me on how to get rid of them because the don't look all that great.
