Default Icon changing: What am i doing wrong?

i managed to successfully change the icon for ClearSMS through OpenSSH, but for the others i tried (Flixster, Shazam,Mail,dTunes), i did the same procedure, but the icons didnt change.

However the icons did change in Boss Prefs `Hide Icons` section. i would guess i was in the wrong section in OpenSSH, but doubt it since ClearSMS icon change worked!?

    What procedure are you using?
If you are using a WinterBoard theme, then just make sure the icons are named EXACTLY as they are displayed on the springboard, and they are in the the themes Icons folder.
So long, and thanks for all the fish

i am using winterboard, openssh and cyberduck.... i went into the initial directory ( represented by a slash / ), went intoapplications, selected the application and dragged the new icon png file there. i then deleted the icon.png file that was initially there, and renamed the new file i just dropped in the file to icon.jpg .

then i clicked refresh in cyber duck, closed the window, and rebooted the iphone.

as mentioned, this worked for the ClearSMS app, but not for the others. the only thing that changed in the others was the logo in Bossprefs. the new icons were there in bossprefs, but not on the homescreen

when you dropped the icon in did it ask you to replace the existing file, if not then you may have misspelled it.

well at first i named the new icons icon.png to match, and it did ask me to replace...but after that didnt work, i named the new icons zzz.png and dropped them. i then deleted the icon.png, and renamed the zzz.png to icon.png

its doing that second method that i got the ClearSMS icon to change

If you are using Winterboard, why would you change your original files?? That doesnt make sense.

Here is what you need to do:
    ON YOUR DESKTOP
make a folder, call it whatever you want.
Make a folder inside that one called Icons. (notice the capital I)
Put your icons, named EXACTLY how they appear on the springboard in to the Icons folder

    Open CyberDuck

    Log in to your phone

Go to the root directory (represented by a /)
    then go to Library
    then Themes

Drag that folder (the one with the Icons folder) that you made in to Cyberduck in the \library\themes folder

Now go into Winterboard (on the phone)
You will see whatever you named that folder in there.
    Click on it

    Close winterboard (phone will re-spring)

    done
So long, and thanks for all the fish

Its the same folder and same procedure I believe, just make sure that the icon is named exactly as the shortcut is named on the springboard.
