What's Jailbreak?

LogoMe - Change your iPod touch or iPhone's boot logo without restoring!

Now out of beta, treat this as a preliminary release.

This is a jailbreak only application (and hence is only available on the first gen iPod touch, iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G).

This is a pretty basic GUI wrapped around the core functionality. If you'd like more features, it would be cool if you showed your interest by making a small donation to me (planetbeing@gmail.com). Thanks!

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

LogoMe is hosted by BigBoss and is available from a default installation of Cydia.

Usage Instructions
------------------

1. Connect to the Internet with your device (Wi-Fi or 3G or EDGE).

2. Open LogoMe.

3. Wait for some files to download (this only has to happen once).

4. Type in the URL of the boot logo you want on the second tab (for now, it has to be accessible on the web somewhere).

5. Optionally push the Preview button on the third tab (to see what it will look like before installing).

6. Push the Install Logo button on the third tab.

7. Restart your device.

Notes
----

If you have an iPod touch, there were problems with the beta releases that disabled your Home and Power buttons. These buttons can be re-enabled if you download and install 1.0.3 AND flash any logo with it.

has anybody tested this without any bad effects?

I'd rather avoid another logo/spinning wheel of death

You're a brave one. Let us know how this works out. Not that I feel the need to change mine from the Pineapple, but...for the rest of the users that want to.

I used this app while following all directions and correctly installing all dependencies, only to reboot and have it not start up, and needing to DFU restore.

Could you give me the URL to the image you tried to use and the model of your device?

I'll try it right now. Post follow up in a bit.
Edit: Worked fine. The icon showed up after a couple resprings.

This worked great for me. Glad we finally have an app that can do this for us without re-pwning haha. I used this logo and it worked perfectly:
