Default How to Change the lockscreen font on a 3g

Any help would be good. I did a search and tried but to no success to change the font. I tired to replace the lockclock.ttf but does not work. Any guide to this would help as I'm stuck at this one thing.

There is data embedded in the lockfont.ttf that needs to be duplicated in the new font. I use fontlab to change the font info.
