Changing '3G' text, menu bar

Today when I was launching the SMS app, I noticed the blue 3G text (I'm on 2.1, so no blue box around it) was only displaying the letter 'o' in the same blue font style. Presuming this part has been changed to text only, has anybody found where that can be changed from? I've looked in a few of the usual places and couldn't find it.

'O' means that your phone is using GPRS. I don't really understand the rest of what you said, care to elaborate? It's still a graphic, if that's what you're wondering.

Oh real? I assumed it was displaying an 'o' because it couldn't load the .plist or something along those lines. Nevermind then, thanks .
