Question Changing Appstore downloaded app icons

Specifically - I want to change the Epocrates Rx Icon...

I am running 2.0.1 with Winterboard mods. What I would really like to have is Categories back (I mean pretty pretty please can we get 2.0 compatible Categories!!!)

In a world without categories - I need to have Epocrates on my main screen of springboard. I have tried to SSH in and change it - but I cannot even find the app (its not located under /Applications for some reason). Does anyone know where it is located?

Secondly - if / when I do locate it - can you change appstore downloaded app icons? I thought I read somewhere that changing the icons can mess with how an app runs.

Any thoughts / comments - please post up.

    easy..

    1. just go var/mobile/applications....

    2. locate your application's icon..

    3. change the existing icon from .png to .bak (Hence no more icon.png but icon.bak)

    4. replace with the new icon u wanted into the application file with .png at the end.

    5. change permission to 0775

    6. reboot.... voilaa..

    good luck..

Place an icon with the proper name (app name) in the winterboard them folder that you have selected and the icon will display. your apps will not be messed up.

I will use the Buuf2 theme as an example. It does not contain an icon for the App Store. So, I used an icon from the main Buff theme, named it App Store.png, and placed it in /private/var/stash/Themes.zVSTqp/Buuf2/Icons/ (the "zVSTqp" will be different on your device).

Ok, xogen, if what it looks like you are saying works then we could simply download a theme that we actually don't like, delete any icons it has in it. Add an entire collection of our own, then they will ALL be there?

    Right?

Trying now, this will be awesome if it works!!! THANKS

    UPDATE!!!

    THANKS TO XOGEN!!!! It worked!

I am using the Time of Day theme, so I added a folder called Icons, then dumped the icons I wanted into it, e-bay, weatherbug, etc... respring and they still work!!

    Thanks man!
