[HOWTO] Change Carrier Logo in 1.1.3

For those of you that cannot change your carrier logo in 1.1.3 (due to no Customize), i've found the solution.....

Origianally, in the older firmwares, if you wanted to change the carrier logo (w/o Customize) you had to migrate to "/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app" and replace the "FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png" and "Default_CARRIER_ATT.png" to your custom images but in 1.1.3, this has changed....

Now, in order to change your logo, migrate to "/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ATT_US.bundle" and replace the images "FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png" and "Default_CARRIER_ATT.png" to your custom images. Restart your iPhone, and your set!

NOTE: The other carrier logos are also found in the "/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/" directory.

how about us non AT&T users? i've tried replacing those png's but no changes has been made after reboot..

ok.. i managed to figure out how to change the carrier logo for non at&t user..

1. copy /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Unknown.bundle/carrier.plist in your computer
2. open it in a plist editor(i use plist editor pro for mac) and view it in xml format
3. change t-mobile strings with the carrier strings that shows in your phone(in my case it is etisalat so i changed t-mobile with etisalat)
4. upload and overwrite the original file including your modified .png's

that's it.. enjoy!

thanks, although i found a way that doesn't require anything other than uploading the new png files. i used the latest release of ibrikr to do so.

Ok i can't say this is 100%, but it worked for me and another poster here. So what i did was went to this folder:

/System/Library/Carrier Bundles

in it you will see a bunch of subfolders with just numbers i.e. 26021, 22043

those are not the right numbers but they are all 5 numbers long and i think they all start with 2.

I then went through every one of those folders until i found a folder that had to files with names that matched the files i wanted to upload. In my case it was FSO/DEFUALT_CARRIER_TMOBILE.png then i just uploaded there and all was fine. I would imagine this would work for the other carriers. I went through about 8 before i got to the tmobile one and saw ATT, O2, and others i forget at the moment. good luck.

Kv8, I dont know what carrier telenor is with regards to the iphone. Like when you go to select carrier does it come up telenor? or do you select att and it just works. basically what carrier logo shows up now? If you have a network listed below replace those files and it should show up.

@brentk: when you change the carrier logo in only one folder, it actually changes the image in the other tmobile folder too. i just checked mine, so if you want to save the original tmobile logo, save it as backup before changing it. NOW, if anyone has the original Tmobile logo, i'd appreciate it if i can have a copy. thanks!

the tmobile directory usually doesn't work for tmobile. I had to post my custom carrier logos in the unknown.bundle for tmobile and then it worked. Just a heads up for you 1.1.3 t-mobile customers.

Okay, I know this is a stupid question to some and I am sure some of you will tell me to just use the search function but I honestly have and was unable to find an answer to this question. I have a jailbroken iPhone but for the life of me I can not get my carrier logo changed with MIM. What do I have to do (programs required) to gain access to the systems folder/ect. So that I may be able to alter my carrier logo?

cyberduck, don't know mac proggies but think that'll work.

as for MIM, I think its text only mod.
just follow guide at top of thread and your golden. it worked for me.
