Updating Weather Icon

Would it be in any way possible to make a weather icon that updates with the current temperature like the calendar icon does with the date?

One a side note, how long did it take you guys to figure out that the icon for the calender updates every day? It took me about a week..

I couldn't figure out why my custom icon had a strange number and day on top of it!!!!!!!
