Will a 3G dock work with the iPhone Edge? I need a new dock for the first gen and 3G's dock is $20 cheaper.

You dont actually need the dock you can just connect the cable right to the back of the phone. And the First Gen iPhone wont fit.

I know its not neccessary (its charging right now without a dock). I just love having it sitting it upright at night, just incase something fell on it. I just really need a dock, and my warranty is up so I have to pay for a new one. I cannot find a cheap used one anywhere and just really want to know from somebody with both iPhones (and docks) to please please answer.

PS: Do they sell 3G docks at AT&T stores?

Thanks for the replies. Do either of you know if the AT&T stores sell the 3G dock? (And yes I get that they do not work with 2G's
