How to view stock Iphone PNG files?

I can't open any files I download from the phone itself. Stock icons, etc....how come I can open and modify other PNG files with a viewer program and/or photoshop but the OEM ones open up to a blank screen with a file viewer and I get an error when I try and open them in photoshop.

Because Apple made it that way. If you're on windows you need to download fixpngWindows and if you're on a mac then download the one for mac, not sure of the name.

Or you can look in the downloads and get them there where they are already converted.

Also on Windows iPhoneBrowser will convert them as they are downloaded.

The conversion is a hack, so you need to edit them before using them on the iPhone or other non-Windows OS...
