How do I create CAF file

At the risk of asking a dumb question, how do I create a CAF file or even convert a WAV file to CAF file from a windows computer. I have access to a Mac if I have to use that.

Quicktime Pro, Mac or Windows (or any audio conversion software capable).

Convert any sound file to aif and then change the extension from .aif to .caf

Yeah but you dont need pro. You can use iTunes though you have to go under the preferences and change it from converting a sound file to wav to aiff but you still have to rename the .aiff to .caf.

lol.....so it was a dumb question. Thanx guys, it worked great. Now I can finish up the next version of my theme and upload it tomorrow.

Hmm doesn't (or any audio conversion software capable) = iTunes and numerous others.

I have figured out how to convert it to the aiff but when I put it on my desktop, the file extension doesn't show up, so when I try to rename it, it doesn't work. How do you get the extension to show up??

Click on My Computer...then at the top select Tools-->Folder Options. Select the tab that says View and then scroll down until you see Hide Extensions For Known File Types. Uncheck it. Click Apply and then OK. Then you can edit the file extensions. This is in XP I am not sure about Vista.

Yea, it's the same for vista. Just find Folder Options in Control Panel.

Hello guys,
First of all, thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post,
I've purchased an sms tone from itunes, thought it will show up in sms tones and make my life simple but no, had to give me trouble.
- I cannot create a Ringtone from it cause I live in Canada (outside the US) iTunes would return an error (unable to connect...)
- It's an m4a file, I converted it easily to aiff, then renamed it to caf
- I SSH'ed to my iphone, replaced one of the tones, but it did not play.
- I opened one of the original SMS tones in wordpad and found that there is a same code snippet that begins in each of the tone files, my file did not tho.
something like: 'caff desc @刀 lpcm free °'
Which made me think they must be in some kind of specific format?
I really don't know...I hope you guys can help me somehow, frustrating!

P.S. I would be more than happy to email you the m4a file if you need it
