HOW TO CREATE A TEXT CARRIER LOGO USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS2
Creating a carrier logo can be a difficult task, so Iam going to go through it step by step and show you how we do it.
I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS2 (if youd like to buy me CS3 I can show you in CS3 another time

) some command and function may be similar in other version of Photoshop or even the Gimp.
PLAIN TEXT CARRIER LOGO
STEP 1: Open Photoshop and click on File->New or Ctrl+N
STEP 2: Configuration (see screenshot below)
Things that need to be set
exact are the red, then press OK
STEP 3: Zoom In
Click on the Magnifying glass in your tool bar
Click on your Work area a few times until you zoom in and can see well.
STEP 4: Writing your words
Click on the Text tool in the tool bar
Change the Text style to what you want. I choose the iPod font, and made my text size 4. Your font size may only go up to 6 in the dropdown list. If that is the case, click inside the white area and you should be able to type in your own number. Type: 4 pt
Click inside your work area, and type out a word. I choose MMi for obvious reasons

. You may have to move it around and center it.
** Please remember that these carrier logos will sit on top of a black background and a white background. If you use either color or light colors you will need to make another version with either a darker or lighter color. Since mine is black I will need to make a white version to go on top of the black background, otherwise you wont be able to see it. If you choose a color like a red or blue, you can continue on to step 7. Otherwise continue to step 5.
STEP 5: Duplicate a new layer
Right click on the layer labeled MMi and click on Duplicate Layer
A screen will pop up asking you this. You can just press OK
You should now have a new layer appear that looks like this:
Click on the eye in the MMi layer to hide it for now.
STEP 6: Change the color
Highlight the text using the text tool by clicking on one end, and dragging.
Click the color block on your top tool bar and change it to white
Now your text should be white
STEP 7: Saving your images
We will first save the white version that we just completed. Click on File->save as
Save in the C

phonedmg folder
Use the file name: FSO_CARRIER_LOGO.png (this is case sensitive)
Use the file format: .png
The click save
Another pop up will appear and say None or Interlaced, choose Interlaced and press OK
Step 8: Saving the other image
Click on the eye of the layer called MMi Copy and click on the empty box where the eye use to be in the layer called MMi. So now it should look like the below:
Your image should also now look like this

'
Follow the same saving procedures as STEP 7. go to file->save as
Save in the C

phonedmg folder
Except this time use the file name: Default_CARRIER_LOGO.png (this is case sensitive)
Use the file format: .png
The click save
Another pop up will appear and say None or Interlaced, choose Interlaced and press OK
And you are done... You have created a carrier logo image set that is ready to be uploaded.
In the next guide, I will show you how to take any image and turn it into a carrier logo.
