Get rid of absurdly old/outdated forum sections
I don't get why Modmyi keeps all of its absurdly old forum sections, e.g. Installer and ZiPhone. Nobody even uses those anymore, and the continued existence of those forums only serves to confuse new people.

Wait I'm confused, you want us to delete the forums you don't use anymore?

And yes. Perhaps if people still used those sections, there would be a reason to keep them the way they are. But who still uses Installer? Who still has an iPhone with 1.1.4 so that they can use ZiPhone? And even if someone did have 1.1.4, who would use ZiPhone instead of flicking a bar with JailbreakMe? Honestly, at least say in the forum's name that the thing is outdated. There are people in the Installer forum forum asking how to get it... with Cydia... on iOS4...Last edited by TheSmartGuy; 09-11-2010 at 09:51 AM.

Keep the "outdated" forums. There are members here such as one1 that like to play iOS limbo once in a while so they can be good reference points.
One suggestion I would make though is to go ahead and unsticky some of the much older threads. The general jailbreaking forum has about 8 stickied threads going back as far as 2 years ago. I don't think we need to sticky iPhone OS 2.X threads anymore

my suggestion: advanced screening of users who will post topics that are completely irrelevant...
but i guess the Zeal would be gone too

Those forums are here for reference and information.
Getting rid of them would be like taking a peice of what jailbreaking used to be and where we came from and how much has changed since then. Some of that stuff is a great read when you feel like it.

also great if your looking to take up the art of creating your own jailbreaks.. way over my head but i am sure previous methods will provide insight on coming up with new methods

This is for you.
Anyways, I suppose there are a couple reasons to keep those forums around. But it would still be useful to put a tag on the names of the forums (e.g. "[Outdated] Installer"). There are at least a few people out there who are wondering what Installer is, and how they can get it on their new iPod.
Also, demoting a couple of the outdated stickied threads would be nice, too. If anyone wants to use them as references, the threads can still be found, even without a sticky. But since most of those older stickies no longer contain relevant information, I don't see any reason why they should remain above everything else.
@taxbax: No, it should be called ModMyiPhone. Lern2spellinz.

I don't think we should delete them, but yes, archive them so we know what is old and what is new. And like pagan said, we should unsticky those old threads that aren't needed as much now. Like the "how to get tmobile Internet for 5.99" thread that's been stickied for as long as I've been here. That plan has been grandfathered for so many months now, the thread just confuses people, it should be unstickied

I'll get to it.
I agree there should be some notification to new users that stuff is not current.
But I am definitely not DELETING the content.

How about make an old firmwares section and move the forums to it if they are before iOS3
