    Default to many advertisements
While I understand having third party advertisements to generate revenue there's way to many ads. It's the main reason I don't visit this site as much as I do others. The only alternative is to use an ad blocker but that would defeat the purpose of the site using ads. Is there any way for you to limit the number of ads used in the site design or at least let members configure where they see the ads? I would definitely like to not see ads in the forum posts as this is severely distracting when reading. One option is to rotate the ads on the top menu every 10 seconds so as to not cause a stroke with continual flashing ads Another option is to keep all ads limited to the top and bottom of the website so as to not distract readers.

It costs many thousands of dollars in hosting and hundreds of hours every month to keep this site online. We do not ask for donations. We do not charge for anything. All we do is serve people that want to get the most out of their phones/apple devices for FREE.

Some stats: Pages served / month is in the tens of millions and we serve somewhere around 30 TB of data monthly (yes TB, not GB meaning we transfer somewhere around 31,000,000 megabytes of data every month). We do this all for free. It's stressful, time consuming, very expensive, and has yet to make us wealthy. Besides running this site and company I personally have a full time job to pay the bills.

Unless you have an extra 60+ or so grand you want to pay me every year to cover our most basic expenses you'll just have to get over it and be happy we do what we do for free.

Thread closed. Don't make another. There is no discussion to be had on the matter.

edit: oh and we host everything on our Cydia repo for free as well for people that make awesome programs and themes for people just like you to use and enjoy. We don't charge developers and skinners anything to get their work up for public distribution via our Cydia repo. I don't think you're complaining that poetic_folly spends many hours every day packaging apps and themes and putting them up for public download. It's a labor of love by him. I don't have the time/energy/interest/motivation to slave all day to distribute things on Cydia for free -- not to mention our Cydia repo uses up a feaking ton of resources and bandwidth that all costs (guess what) a lot of money.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If everyone was as polite and thankful as you I would just close the doors to this site. Permanently.

Something else. The economy has gone to **** and drastically hurt our monthly revenue. We have not added any extra ads to try to make up for our current ads that don't make as much money as they used to. Instead we have made a new theme and moved an ad location from a very subversive place right smack on top of thread content and placed almost on top of the navigation (which caused a lot of accidental clicks by users navigating the site making us money) up to the header where it is less distracting from thread content and doesn't receive nearly as many accidental clicks.

Are we crazy not adding any additional advertising to the site and moving an ad to a location that is less disruptive as a response to less revenue due to the market? No. We work very hard to keep a reasonable balance between site revenue and usability.
