it looks like your in the same boat as the rest of us clueless as to why this is (including the wiki poster). I have had luck changing the file names, but no one really understands how it works yet.

  5. #25
I have done everything but the ringtone doesnt play any audio. So far ive added only one ringtone...any suggestions?

Ok guys, i made mines work. What i did was instead of naming the spoof file "spoof" i actually named it the same name as the m4a. It worked for me and hopefully works for someone.

    EDIT:

    SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!!!

on the GUID #... you cannot have a sequential #. it has to be any random #... if you look closely on the GUID that i have for "Send me an Angel" and "True"... its 000002 and 000003... this will not play... it has to be any RANDOM #

    CHECK IT OUT v v v v v v v

Hopefully you guys get it now. let us know if it works!!

    EDIT x2:

Unfortunately the ringtones that you made will only work if you assign them to your contacts. it will not work as a default ringtone. bummer... that means editing all your contacts and adding them a custom ringtone or just using a pre-loaded iPhone ringtones. bummer x2. ah well.... at least we have something for now.

i tried this method, and it works even worse than before. did you guys do anything special?

  11. #30
I don't really know what the deal is. I have about 20 on my phone now, and all but 5 work. it used to be 8 but i just kept changing the file names and re-converting files and got three more to work... Has anyone found any kind of pattern yet?

setting permissions, the whole 7 letter name, non sequential GUID numbers, none of them seem to make a difference on the ones that won't go...

The top one and the bottom one don't work, but the other two do... whats the difference?
