Ok I looked around for this before I posted I made this for myself because I think its the best sound for a text so figured I would share and yes it works for 3.0. Dont forget to hit the Thanks

Setup

Download here: Chirp SMS Sound
Unrar
SSH into phone and put into Themes
Set in Winterboard: "If the theme your using already has a custom SMS Sound then make sure you put this above it, if your theme doesn't have a custom SMS Sound then it doesnt matter"

It looks like your file replaces all system SMS alerts with the one sound -- correct?

Yes, it replaces all the SMS alerts so no matter what SMS sound you have checkEd it will work!
