    Default New SMS sound title

    I have successfully changed the SMS tone and ringtones, but is there a way to change the actual title that is displayed in the SMS sound settings.(tri-tone, chime, glass, ect.) I can't seem to find the file location for the titles that correspond with sms-received_#.

    Hmmm convert back to a mp3 cahange the XMP info files and then back to a CAF might work...... .caf files do have info embeded with them but I do not think there is a program that will access that info while they are still in a .caf format. But there are some that will access and change it when they are in a mp3 format.... Just a thought....

    No, that won't work E-Dragon, the iPhone isn't pulling the sound name from metadata inside the CAF file, it's hard coded into this file:

    /private/var/stash/Applications.orgKcO/Preferences.app/English.lproj/Sounds.strings

    So SSH or SFTP into your iPhone... and follow the instructions here on how to edit that file and edit those names:

    change sms tone name

    and be sure to make a backup of your Sounds.strings file.

    The plist conversion site listed there appears to be down. You can use these instead:
    http://iappcat.com/plist/bin2xml
    http://lesterchan.net/plutil/

    On a Mac you can use Plist Edit Pro.

    Hope this helps!

    I just uploaded a stock version that I decoded. Edit it with a program like Notepad++
    .:: NOTEPAD++ ::.

    Just unzip it and edit it with Notepad++

    Edit: Just tried it out and it works. Pic as proof. Have fun with it.
