Ringtone cuts out
Hey guys
my friend and I have ran accross this problem twice now. When we transfer rintones to the iphone, everything seems to work fine. But when I play the ringtone, it cuts out and certain parts. But it works fine in itunes. Any ideas? I have an iphone 3G

All the tones worked before. it's just that they cut out on my phone all of a sudden. The problem isn't with the ringtone its self

I cut a part of an MP3 I want as a ringtone, transfer it to itunes, convert it to acc, rename to m4r, then delete the old mp3 file. Then I sync the phone.
They all used to work. Just over time they started cutting out.

What happens if you pull them off your phone then re-sync them? Do they work fine for a while again then start acting up? Do you have any apps on the phone that use the ringtones?

I have actually had this issue ad normal songs via iPod app on the iPhone. I would resumc but the only thing that would help is redownloading the song

I got all my songs from my site Klints iphone ringtone site
I'll try to re-download them and post what happens
nope.I re-synced the phone, didnt work
I re downloaded and deleted the old songs..... didn't work
this is frustrating
Hmmmmm apps that use ringtones. Maybe winterboard. That's all I can think of

I just re-virginized my phone and they still don't work. Could it be Itunes?
I just re-created my old tones using audacity. They work fine now. I was using cool edit to cut the songs. That might have been the proplem.
Thanks for the help anyways guysLast edited by klintk; 01-16-2009 at 01:36 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I'm having this problem at the moment.
I used iTunes to encode the part of the song that I wanted in AAC format and then renamed it to m4r.
I use cybyerduck to ssh the ringtone into the iphone.
Here's the kicker, when it's in the lockscreen, it plays about 2-5 seconds then cuts out but still keeps vibrating. However, when it's not in lockscreen (i.e. home screen) it plays perfectly.
I've been searching the internet but can't seem to find any solution. All other songs, prior to this one, work flawlessly.
Edit:
Just tried it again, and now it works... dunno why it's hit or miss.Last edited by KingShorty; 01-24-2009 at 09:05 PM.

i had this problem when i examined the problem ringtone in Wavepad i noticed that in sections the ringtone would play at a fast speed then slow down to normal and repeat over throughout the song.
i beleieve this is the problem if a ringtone is playing too fast it wont play and cuts out cause when i remade the ringtone so that it was playing at a normal speed it worked fine
