assign ringtones to contacts with vringtones??

I want to assign regular/normal ringtones to my contacts, and have my vringer for non-contacts, or maybe different vringtones for each contact. Is this possible??

Right now I have different ringtones assigned to my contacts, but the vringtones are ringing, not the assigned ringtone.........

I did try it, that's why I asked, and stated that I tried it. I just wanted to know if I was missing something..........
