Ok, following the first post, I am perfectly ok until I get to the last step. I don't know how to get the ringtone to sync to the phone as a ringtone.

It is .m4r, when I do "get info" in my music library it says "ringtone", but I can't put it in either the ringtone folder on the computer OR on the iphone.

No, I can't get it into EITHER ringtones folder (the library one OR the one when the phone is connected in the phone). It's in the music library folder as an m4r but can't do anything after that.

Have you tried to double click on it? so i loads into itunes and plays

Yes, it is playing right now. It is located in my Music Library...but nothing happens when I play it other than it playing. It doesn't move it into a ringtone folder of either type, and I have tried restarting iTunes, having the phone connected or disconnected, etc.

I think you better go back to page 1, and start again on your r/tone. Am sure you may have done s/thing wrong or missed a step, let me know how you go.

I have been back to the first page a hundred times thinking I am missing a step. I followed it to the "t."

- I had to download and install Audacity (I didn't have it)
- Opened up a file, trimmed it down to 22 seconds
- Saved file as .wav
- Imported file into iTunes
- Converted file to AAC
- Opened up file in explorer and renamed from .m4a to .m4r
- Double clicked file in iTunes, iTunes plays song
- Song DOES NOT transfer to ringtones area
- Checked song info to make sure it is listed as ringtone/.m4r, it was
- Rebooted
- Restarted iTunes
- Tried all over with phone connected/unconnected

Doesn't work.

I implore someone to look at this AVI file I created using screen capture to show you my exact steps in the process and tell me what I did wrong:

if your phone is jailbroke try manually putting the ringtone in on the phone in Library/Ringtones i believe and then try to play it if it works your done if not something isnt right
