Hi, all -

Just got my iPhone a couple of hours ago, and found my way to this forum. I'm looking forward to learning all the cool stuff that Apple doesn't talk about.

I tried the directions on making my own ringtones, but the last step doesn't work right. iTunes doesn't move the .m4r file into ring tones, and it won't let me drop it in there, either. Can anyone give me an idea of what I might be doing wrong? Mac OS 10.5.1, iTunes 7.5 (running on a G5).

If all is right with the file just save to a place you want to "store" it on the HD and click on it (like to open it) It should, bring up iTunes and install it to your rintones. If not, hmmm, well I'm not that great with Mac's.. But something most be wrong with the file or somewhere in the conversion, it should of installed when you tried to drag and drop it. Tho I did notice that sometimes if you try to install to many at once (other than using the add folder option) it won't add them...

Hey guys quick question.. Is it possible to get these custom ringtones on my iPhone FW1.1.2OTB. I just purchased the iPhone as I already have an iTouch so I am familiar of how to work apps and etc but for some reason I update my iTunes from 7.4 to 7.5 and I click the preferences, click ringtones. I got the ringtone from here, file, add file, added the ringtone and it does not show in my list of ringtones.... Again I am using 1.1.2 FWotb which I activated and dowgraded to 1.1.1 then used optoprep and went to 1.1.2 and it jailbreaked. So I did everything right, just need to learn how to get these ringtones on.

EDIT LOL srry guys I figured it out, I guess I didn't have the sync button clicked with a check mark in the ringtones tab So now I just sync it and I went to my iPhone, went into ringtones and I have a Custom section... Is this correct? It shows standard and custom

I allways wanted a ringtone from the movie Top Gun.
Maybe when Maverick requsting a flyby and get the answer: Negative...
Or any anything other when you hear the fighters flying.

Ok, I hope this is the right place to ask this...

I purchased a ringtone from iTunes. It's Pink Floyd's Money. I love the ringtone better than any I've ever used, but I do wish it could be louder. I have tried the AudioAmp app (which did nothing at all) and I also did the hole poking in the speaker thing (that helped a little).

Question, Is there another way to boost the volume of the ringtone without having to make one from scratch?
