What eactly do you mean a nametone? Do you want your phone to say the name of the person whos texted you? If so, that seems like a third party app request to me. But i may be mistaken.

yes thats kinda wat I mean and I have searched all over for something to download and cant seem to find anything It is really frustrating. It cant be that hard if someone figured out how to hack the iphone i'm sure someone can figure this out cause I really want it..............

i used to have a feature like this on one of my old sprint phones that didn't require making individual ringtones. it had a built in text-to-speech engine and would ring and say the person's name who was calling. it was pretty cool. it's too bad there's no feature like that on the iphone...
