ringtone won't go off in locked mode

after about 5 mins when my phone is in locked mode the ringtone/vibrations won't go off when someone is calling unless i unlock it and it automatically comes up.
any help ideas on what i should do? my phone is version 1.1.1 and i've already tried to restore it and no luck.

I've had the same problem as Vipez with my recently unlocked 1.1.4 iphone. after being locked for a minute or so, calls do not show up on the screen - am looking at the locked screen and someone could be calling me and i wouldn't know unless i leave the phone permanently unlocked. This obviously drains the battery.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a sollution?
