Custom ringtone status on 1.1.2?

Whats the current status of custom ringtones on firmware 1.1.2? I read a post somewhere that stated the spoof file trick no longer works.

Does the patched MeCCa file still work to simply drop the ringtones in the Library/Ringtones directory?

I'm not really in a rush to goto 1.1.2 as it does not seem to offer much, but aside from just a couple of apps, the biggest thing for me is the ringtones, so just wondering what the status is with them.

1.1.2 brings back the easiest legit way to put custom ringtones.

Rename your .m4a file to .m4r and open it on iTunes. That's it. It'll show up on the ringtones tab and on you can sync it through iTunes without having to jailbreak or do anything to the phone.

This works with Itunes 7.5 also, or need an older version?

You need both iTunes 7.5 and firmware 1.1.2 for it to work.

Well, that was pretty painless, OkToPrep worked fine, and I'm jailbroken on 1.1.2. And Ringtones work just as you said! Yay!

i have custom ringtones on my 1.1.2 and its working fine and loud

I'm using 1.1.1. jailbroken. Can I just update to 1.1.2. on itunes already? or should I do something first? I'm kind of new to this stuff.
