Audacity

There is a open source freeware program called audacity. It is pretty easy to use and you can cut down your mp3's to just a 20 - 30 sec audio clips. It takes a little getting used to and getting them cut down, but once you figure it out you can its pretty easy. You can also increase the db so the audio is a little louder. Give it a try. Hope it works for you.
