[GIVEAWAY] Just Mobile HeadStandô Headphones Stand
Those pesky headphones are always laying on your desk, wishing they had somewhere to look better, aren't they? Just Mobile's HeadStand provides just that.
Just Mobile has been around for 7 years making really cool accessories. They've focused on accessories for iProducts since 2007, and we always love what they come up with. Based out of Taiwan, with a serious attention to detail and design, Just Mobile builds things that feel as if they match the engineering glory of your Apple products. High quality materials match up to beautiful-in-simplicity designs.
In the Box
The box is simple and has a clean look featuring the product itself printed on a black matte material. Shiny text tells you it's by Just Mobile, and is called the HeadStand. You can actually open the front of the box to get a glimpse of the HeadStand in action - a printed image shows it on a desktop. The base of the HeadStand, finished in brushed aluminum, is visible through the packaging.
There's very little in the box aside from the product itself (which requires two screws to be screwed in in order to fully assemble it). Nestled in a black foam inset are 4 pieces - the two bars and "hook" constitute one assembled piece, the base, and two Philip's head screws.
You'll also find a Just Mobile decal in the box.
Just Mobile really shines when it comes to design, and the HeadStand is no different.
Brushed aluminum throughout, the HeadStand has a double base with a rubbery bottom which keeps the stand from slipping on your desk. The open area between the two base circles is used to wrap your headphones cord - keeping the clutter at bay.
Two tall hollow aluminum columns (the total HeadStand height is just under 10" - 9.76" or 24.8cm to be exact) screw into the base from below, topped with a wide "hook" area to rest your headphones. I had to tighten the hook as well when I first got the stand out of the box - oddly these are flathead screws.
There are no hard edges anywhere - everything is round, or has a rounded edge. Great quality, and not quite as heavy as I thought it'd be.
Price / Conclusion
The HeadStand does its job well - and looks great doing it. I noticed it was very stable - not wobbly at all, which is good as I grabbed the headphones and set them on the stand. It handles a wide variety of phones - anything with a band I threw at it was no problem. I didn't use the cable tidy much - it's annoying to have to unwrap it when I want to use my phones.
You can pick up the HeadStand on the Just Mobile website for $49.95, which seems to follow their recent trend of "just a little pricier than it seems worth, but hey, you own Apple products, right?" I'd be much more happy with the HeadStand at a $34.95 price point. That being said - it IS top quality for your dollar.
We're giving it 4 leaves.
As is customary for an MMi review, Just Mobile is hooking up a reader with a HeadStand for free! (Thanks guys!) Use the widget below to grab entries into the raffle, and we'll pick a winner Thursday morning.

Do many people still use over the ear headphones?
Not meant to be a snip I'm asking as a legitimate question.

z3r01 - thanks. It ain't retina - but it runs Linux. haha.

Looks good, but the price point is a bit much just for something to hold your headphones.

It could be made of gold, still a headphone stand isn't worth $50.

Good grief, what on earth do those two ugly screws on top look like?
If you cannot think of anything else better than this to hold the thing together then at least have both slots set in the same direction!
