Upgrade from 4.2.1 to 5.1.1 on iphone 4?

I am looking to upgrade to the latest untethered jailbroken iOS version. From what I read, that's 5.1.1... but itunes always gives me an error when trying to upgrade using the 5.1.1 ipsw... I've read this is because Apple is no longer signing 5.1.1 and won't let me update... Is there any way to bypass this? I remember reading about changing Apples IP in the hosts file and running a program that fakes Apple signature, but it didn't work when I last messed with it a few months ago and now I'm looking for something that can force the upgrade, or wondering if there is any ETA on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 for the Iphone 4

You gitting that error because of what ya said no blobs no update to that firmware sorry. Eta on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 no clue sorry
