Can not upgrade : button is gray
Hello,
I just jailbreak my iphone 4 ios 5.0.1 with redsn0w 0.9.10b4. my firmware 5.0.1 was installed with redsn0w to conserve baseband (04.10.01).
All is good but with itunes, i can't use the upgrade button, it is gray.
I would like to install ipcc files with "alt" but i can't !
Any help ?
Sorry for my bad english ...
Regards

Here is how to do it
In Microsoft Windows
On the other hand, with Microsoft operating system, you have to use the Command Prompt to insert the following text:
"C
Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
The previous only applies for 32-bits systems, while in architectures of 64-bits, as iTunes is a 32-bit application and it’s installed in the 32-bits application folder, you have to run this other line instead of the previously mentioned.
"C
Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
If you don’t know which line of text you should pick, simply try both of them, since there is no inconvenience with a possible mistake.
From now on iTunes is prepared to manage files with the “.ipcc” extension, which can be uploaded the same way we install a custom firmware or we restore the device with a “.ipsw” file manually selected.

So to say, we connect our iPhone or iPad, we select it from iTunes’ left column, and then we click “Restore” while holding “Shift” in Microsoft Windows or “Alt” in Mac OS. This will make a new window appear, where we can select the “.ipcc” file located in our computer. iTunes will take care of the rest, and if no inconveniences happen, we have successfully replaced the file.
(From Uploading ".ipcc" files via iTunes | Applewho)
See if this works for ya.
That's what I did and it worked.
