Been trying to Jailbreak a brand new iPhone 4 / 5.0.1 Verizon for 10 hours now...
I don't know what to do. I've read everything and tried everything, I just want to jailbreak this phone. I had a Droid X and it was a much easier process to crack. Can anyone help me and tell me exactly what to do. The latest thing I did was a factory reset, then tried the redsn0w 0.9.10b3 again and it gets stuck on "waiting for reboot". One thing may be I'm using a Windows 7 PC. Maybe I should just try using a Mac or a different computer?? Any help is much appreciated, thanks......
Update: Just tried it on a Mac....same thing??? I'm going to try downloading the ipsw restore file and choosing it and choosing it on the Extras part of redsn0w
Hey man, just did mine yesterday with a mac. Had issues and had to retry a couple of times. When I had success I made sure the iphone was off and followed the DFU procedure by redsnow. Went through the steps and it seemed to work fine (make sure you select don't select locate me or something like that in the beginning after the download is complete and your going through your iphone gui) I used the same version you did on my 3gs. The only issue I'm having is I can't make calls?? everything else works. It was locked down for sure when I got it (purchased off of ebay).
My sim came from T-mobile and the phone from AT&T, it doesn't have an internet package on the sim, but it still should be able to make calls right??
It just comes up no Service?? when I take the sim out it detects no sim card, so its seeing the sim.. My friend has a 4s, but the sim is a mini, so I couldn't test it in mine and I don't know anyone else who has a compatible off hand.
ran the application and followed the steps carefully. The initial first steps are the ones to pay closest attention to. Get phone in DFU mode, then let the application do the rest. Important again that your phone is off!! (hold top power key until you see the slide feature to turn it off) of course your usb cable needs to be connected and have Itunes shut down as precautionary.
