How long does it take

I have an iPhone 3gs 5.0.1 and wonder how long it takes to jailbreak. It's been on one of the first steps for about 45 minutes now and wondering what happens if I unplug it to go home. What would I do then? Will it still work?

Should only take a couple minutes. You on Mac or windows? And which version?

Using Windows Vista. If it hasn't worked should I just unplug it and try to turn the phone back on? The window says that it is "exploiting with limera1n".

You need to run redsnow in windows xp compatibility mode.

How do I do that?

Right click on redsnow and click properties. Choose the compatibility tab and you will see a check box to do it. Check the box for windows xp sp3, click apply then try redsnow again.
