I am trying to upgrade my 3GS from 4.2.1 to 5.0.1 with preserving my baseband. Now I have downloaded Redsn0w 0.9.10B3 (and B4) and created a custom IPSW.

Given the instructions that have been posted on this website, the next thing to do is to put the phone in DFU mode. According Redsn0w messages this works fine, but when I open Itunes it doesn't recognize my Iphone and I get some weird message that Iphone is not connected to the internet.......and I therefore cannot restore the phone with the customized IPSW.

I am on Windows 7 X64 and put redsn0w into compatibility mode with Windows XP, SP3. I also tried redsn0w in compatibility mode with Windows 7 but the result remained the same.

Am I missing something here? Pls give me some idea's on how to solve this.
