    Default 3GS Old Bootrom, 05.13.04 BB, 4.3.3 Jailbroken & Unlocked -> Want 5.0.1

So I have RedSnow 0.9.9b8 and I have the 3GS 5.0.1 ipsw, but RedSnow says it doesn't recognize it. I want to make a custom Firmware preserving the BB, restore the phone to 5.0.1, jailbreak and run ultrasn0w?

I'm using Tiny Umbrella 5.10.00, and it says I have blobs going from 3.1.3 all the way to 4.3.5.

I can create a NO_BB 5.0.0 Firmware with RedSnow, but get the error 3014 when trying to restore in iTunes 10.5.1.

    I'm currently on Tmobile.

    Thanks for any help.

Use Snowbreeze 2.8b11 to create a custom firmware of 5.0, not 5.0.1
Use the pwned dfu from snowbreeze to put iphone into pwned dfu mode
Run itunes : shift + restore to custom fw of 5.0

Ok, I created the custom firmware with Snowbreeze 2.8b11 on my Windows machine. Entered pwned dfu mode, ran itunes and did shift + restore.

Keep getting the same error, "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)."

    Any help is appreciated

Is your iphone currently jailbroken ?
Run tiny umbrella > adv tab > select set hosts file to cydia and close it.
Restore to custom firmware of 5.0 again .

Yeah, I have that already, checked my /etc/hosts file and it's correct. When I go to gs.apple.com in my browser, it goes to cydia's homepage. But I get the "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. This device isn't elgible for the requested build." with the NO_BB_iPhone2,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw restore file.

I've also tried using the TSS server and see the requests come in and go out in the log file, but get the error message "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (11)." and from the TSS Log:

    12/09/2011 15:19:01.753 DFU Device disconnected

Going to Exit Recovery from TU now.

I've done this in Mac OS and in Windows 7, except with the firmware file sn0wbreeze_iPhone 3GS-5.0 that Snowbreeze created.

    Cydia shows SHSH: iOS 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.2.1r1, 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3, 4.3.4, 4.3.5

    iPhone 3G[S], iOS 4.3.3, Cydia 1.1.2

Then restore to 4.3.3 with your blob.

Yes, I'm on 4.3.3 (Jailbroken and Unlocked), but would like to get to 5.0 or 5.0.1.

    Thanks.

Just listen to me, put your iphone into pwned dfu mode and restore to custom firmware of 5.0 created by snowbreeze. I can guarantee it will work. Even if you can restore to 5.0.1 , you are not going to get signal because Ultrasn0w will not work at 5.0.1

Are you sure it's an old bootrom? If its not you'll get a response like that.

You have the old bootrom, just restore to custom firmware of 5.0 created by Snowbreeze not the one created by Redsn0w so you can unlock with Ultras0w at 5.0.

Do it now and let me know your success

Do you have access to PC computer ?

Well, it's in DFU mode, but when I kick it out, it's back to normal 4.3.3 JB.

Should I load up 4.3.3 with no baseband and no jailbreak?

You haven't restored yet , put your iphone into pwned dfu mode and restore to custom fw of 5.0 created by Snowbreeze thru itunes.

    My hosts file has:

    74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

Is that the correct IP? (TU did it)

You can use tiny umbrella to set your hosts file pointed to cydia and close it.
