trouble with just boot
hi,
i used the tethered jailbreak for ios 5 on an iphone 4 and it worked correctly. and after any reboots used just boot to return my phone to its jailbroken state. i installed semi tethered and after turning my phone off i can no longer boot it with just boot. semi tethered works as it should but if i attempt JUST BOOT it gets to the pineapple logo and hangs. no matter how long i leave it.
i also attempted to restore it to ios 5 again using shift click restore. but i receive the error 3194. even though when i initially updated to ios 5 there was no error. ive attempted to change the host file with no success. it still came up with error 3194. if someone knows how to stop it from hanging at the pineapple logo or another fix for the 3194 error it would be much appreciated. ive searched google and other forums with no luck. thank you
iphone 4
ios 5
windows xp
dont know what other info is needed. thanks.

In semi tether mode, you still have Cydia icon. I did the same thing and I didn't like it as I cannot just boot it. I uninstall semi tether from Cydia in Safe mode.

i cant find a way to get my phone into safe mode. can i remove semi tethered through ifunbox by deleting it or will that cause more issues?

Sorry, not in safe mode but you should still see cydia icon even in Semi tether mode.
Not sure if deleting it with ifunbox will cause more issue.

Try running redsn0w and install cydia again or ssh into it and delete semi tether.

I attempted to reinstall cydia through redsn0w and after it runs through the process of jailbreaking I see the apple logo and the phone restarts in semi tethered mode with no change.
I haven't been able to ssh into it. I don't think OpenSSH is running. And because it's semi tethered I can't turn it on. Through ifunbox I couldn't ssh. And I attempted to use apps from the app store labeled as ssh apps with no luck actually getting them to run correctly. For example, I used ssh term pro and it shows a green light to the connection but as soon as I attempt to join it closes it. I'm not sure if the set up is wrong. I may have to attempt to delete semi tether through ifunbox and hope for the best.
Thanks a lot or your help. If you have any other ideas I'd appreciate it.
I think I'm fighting a losing battle though. Haha
