update and unlock 3gs

I have a 3gs with 4.3.2 (8h7) and I would like to update and unlock this iphone. I have used redsnow 0.9.9.b8 to take the ios 5 ipsw and make it NO.BB. I then proceeded to restore with itunes. I put it into DFU mode and the itunes recognized it. I tried to restore with itunes and it said that the update was invalid. I tried again with tinyumbrella and then I just got errors. I have recieved error 11. I would also like to downgrade to the ipad baseband so that I can unlock and I don't care about GPS. I cannot find the guide to downgrade baseband. Thank you.

is your iphone new or old baseband, if is new baseband I suggest to keep your current firmware and jailbreak untether and unlock, or at least save your shsh bloobs with redsn0w. If you really want to update you should try making a new custom firmware or download one already made, if still not working install itunes again or try on another pc/mac

Earlier this year I bricked the phone and had to restore with iTunes, so I have a baseband not supported by ultra snow 5.16.02. I don't care what version of ios I have just as long as I can get a new baseband so I can unlock

then the easiest way is to jailbreak with redsn0w and select the option to update baseband(you will loose gps this way), then unlock with ultrasn0w
