Questiosn about Tethered Jailbreak and Unlock
If I have an iphone 4 with baseband 1.59.00, can I update to iOS 5 (preserve baseband) and do the tethered jailbreak and still be able to unlock the phone with ultrasn0w?
After installing ultrasn0w, the phone restarts, and because it is a tethered jailbreak, won't I lose the jailbreak after restarting and also lose the unlock?
Is it even possible to be on tethered jailbreak and rely on ultrasn0w unlock?

Yes you can tether jailbreak (even better semitether jailbreak with the help of semitether from cydia) , but to be able to update without updating baseband you have to make a custom firmware with snowbreeze (download the last sn0wbreeze for 5.0 from the ih8sn0w.com website), and that way will also jailbreak the iphone. Then just install ultrasn0w and semitether from cydia. If it turns off yo will be able to turn on normally, just will not be able to use the jailbroken applications, for that you just have t boot tethered. You will only upgrade baseband if you update or restore with itunes a stock firmware

no will not have to reinstall, but if you reboot normally the jailbreake application will not work (will still be there) untill you will boot tether again with redsn0w

Is there a way to restore all jailbroken apps and settings if I were to do a software update. For example, if I am currently on iOS 5.0 and when update comes out for iOS 5.0.1, will I have to reinstall all jailbroken apps and settings?

yes you will have to reinstall all that, but when a new firmware arives please do not hurry to update becauseprobably will not be a solution for jailbreaking then, or will be tether
