iOS5 and SHSH Blobs

I have all my blobs saved from 4.1 to 4.3.5. From what I understand, iOS5.0 doesn't use blobs anymore. Today I updated to 5.0 tethered with redsn0w, I brought up latest TinyUmbrella and it was able to save IOS 5.0 GM blob! Does this mean once a newer iOS is released i'll be able to downgrade back to 5.0 using this blob?

Another question, off topic. I use redsn0w to boot tethered but it needs a direct connection to the internet. So at my office, there's a proxy that i'm unable to enter in redsn0w so it won't allow me to do much. Can I specify redsn0w to connect through a proxy?

Nobody knows how to downgrade back to 5.0 once 5.0.1 is released? Why was tiny umbrella able to save a 5.0 blob ?

After further research on other sites and no help from this forum, I figured out you can now save 5.0+ shsh blobs but can't use them to downgrade back to 5.0+ still.

I also determined there is no way to use redsn0w without an internet connection (or direct internet connection), which is kind of ridiculous I can't run it on a laptop with no internet access just to boot tethered.

ummm yea, i downgraded from 5.0 to 4.2.1, but now unable to get back to 5.0. on 3gs

Anyways, 5.0 was the start of newer coding/ more security with blobs or what not, it is not stored anywhere or something. But to the point its Apple getting smarter and tougher. It has been mentioned in many place of this issue.

But with ur proxy, u try snowbreeze? I think that is the only other program out there for windows stuff.

No reason to complain, it is what it is, you can always try to figure it out urself, b/c these ppl aren't getting paid to hack it for you.

You can download the iOS 5 firmware file for your device from MMi's downloads page, then click Extras, Select IPSW and then open it. Now you can click Just Boot without having to download anything else. I do this because I don't want to download the same file on the PCs I use.

I found this annoying to do myself, so I recently made a script that you can compile and put on a USB drive to be able to do it from any computer, without having to press too many buttons. Feel free to use it; the instructions are in the files.
