I can't get RedSn0w to work on 3.1.3...
iPhone 3G, it bricked mid call last night, and to restore iTunes updated it 3.1.3 from 3.1+(not sure which one). At that version, I had jailbroken it with Blackra1n.
I have gone through several restores and tried Redsn0w to no avail. I've trued Redsn0w .92, .93, and .94. I've downloaded the 3.1.2 firmware from a couple of different places, and in getting to the DFU part, I have held the Home button until the countdown disappears, until the white screen appears (about the 30 second mark) and until the Downloading Firmware screen appears. It always gets stuck there.
I have no true need to unlock it.
I've tried Snowbreeze too, but it won't make my custom IPFW file for 3.1.3. I get an object reference error.
I also tried Snowbreeze, but it won't create the custom ipsw file. I keep getting a object reference error.Last edited by Jwrbloom; 03-11-2010 at 01:59 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Restore the phone to new then do the jailbreak. Do not let go of the home button until at least a minute after the screen on your phone that says jailbreaking starts. It took me 4 tries to get it to work finally while using redsn0w.

Actually, the key was using the right IPSW file.

Need to be using: iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore
Somehow I was using iPhone1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore

my redsnow 0.9.4 only gives me 2 option ( install cydia or tethered boot)
After i try to install cydia, the phone stays in black screen ( i assume it is DFU mode).
i open redsnow again, this time doing the tethered boot option, however when my iphone boots , there is no cydia installed.
1. I'm using an iphone 3gs 3.1.3 (never jailbreak before)
2. baseband 5.12.01 , iboot latest 359.3.2
3. I just want jailbreak ( no need to unlock)
