Need Help With Ipod Touch 2.2.1

Hey guys
Basically am on 2.2.1 jailbreak, and want to go to 3.0 jailbreak. I the redsnow 0.8 jailbreak software it says you need a 3.0 ipod touch 2g. so do i restore it to 3.0???? and where can i get the 3.0 free??? any links and vidz will be helpful
