3.1 JB for Windows hasn't been created. Also be careful when you get to JB. Mine continues to go into Safe Mode. I think it may have to do with Winterboard. Trying another custom ipsw now.

I'm new to relatively new to Jb's. I thought QuickPwn was just for Mac/OSX etc and redsn0w was just for windows based Pcs

There is a way for Windows users.
HOW TO JAILBREAK iPhone 3G 3.1 on windows
But this is only for 3G. It's not official nor is it 100% guaranteed, but it's there for the itchy-fingered Windows users.

Can someone please help me with "shift restore"? I tried that on my 2g that was updated to 3.1 by accident. I did shoft restore and after restoring the firmware is still 3.1. So what else can I do other than hit the shift key and click restore?

Like mahgninnuc93's I am completely astounded by aceslick911's claims to have installed a working MacOS image onto a PC using VMWare I belived this to be truly impossible but I will stand corrected if indeed it does turn out to be true.

Actually Irvo, you can do that. I'm just wanting to find out which VMWare was used. It's something that has been done for many years.
Like using bootcamp with a MAC to use a windows os.

Wow. I've been wanting to get a Hackintosh up and running but was intimidated by iatkos. This vmware setup seems much more feasible for me at least. May have to do this on a rainy day. Already have an image of OS X.
