no service 2g 3.0 unlock with redsn0w
It stays there searching for signal...........
No service!
I jaibraked with redsn0w 0.8
Should I try .7

I would suggest a clean restore - and make 100% that you do it correctly.
Read here: redsn0w and when trough read again
Stay with .8Do hope that helps

Did you check the "unlock" box and select both the bootloader 3.9 and 4.6 files when asked?

I had this problem when I was using a 3.1 file I downloaded off the net and shift+click restore. Now that I used the file right through Itunes when you click restore it worked. Just took a while to download it that way

actually i bought a 3GS with $$$
and it was already unlocked and jailbroken... 3.0.1
anyways, everything worked but i wanted a fresh install (because there were contacts and etc...)
now that i reinstall the 3.0.1 and jailbreak/unlock with redsn0w .8 i get the same thing as topic creator.
arggg i'll try to option+restore and will post again.

Well if it's the same problem with a different device, then it probably has something to do with either your redsnow or the firmware. Try redownloading both, but the firmware from a different source this time.
