no wifi after redsnow on 3g 3.0

i followed the jail breaking process but after wards the wifi is turned on but it doesnt detect any wifi at al eventough im standint next to the router

i have tried other places that have wifi with no success
if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this issue

I have the same problem, Im returning my Iphone 3G s under warranty, I cant function without my wifi

mine has 3 days of warranty left so i dont know but i had my girl take it to the store to get unlocked for 5 bucks and i should have it later on today
ill see if it actually works right

^ why would you pay for an unlock when the software is free? Hope it cures your problem.

i tried to do it on my own but i could not get it to work but my 2g i unlocked easely so im trying this solution also my girl wanted to do something nice for me so i let her take it

Although don't really believe it will make a difference in your wifi reception, but I could be wrong.

they did it and now the phone has signal but no wifi but someone might find a fix for it

I assume you have the proper wifi address added?
Your not going to like this answer. But you need to restore, set up as new phone and re-jailbreak and unlock.
No wifi is a some what common problem with jailbreaking. Could be a corrupt file, mismatch or sync problem.

I just told you what I believed would cure your problem in post # 8.
I have dealt with this issue many times here, a fresh restore and jailbreak properly installed seems to cure it.

i tried to jailbreak the phone and unlock it myself to no success since the wifi doesnt work when i do it this way my phone is at least unlocked
so im afraid to jailbreak it on my own since my phone might lock and not work at all

After jailbreak the iPhone, please reset the network settings. Go to Settings, General, Reset and Reset Network Settings. Hope it helps...

i got my wifi to work just had to reflash with a custom firmware i found and my wifi works like a charm now

it worked for about 5 minutes and as soon as i sinced my progs with itunes the wifi stoped working again so its not a firmware issue its an itunes issue
