How? What? I'm confused. Help anybody?

I downloaded redsn0w 0.72 last night in effort to jailbreak my phone while installing Cydia and Icy and it seemed to work perfectly, except for one minor detail. Cydia had one essential update it needed (the graphic interface i believe) and one other one that started with a d - something about installing packages?, but it couldn't install anything. I found out today talking to a friend that I didn't have the right version of redsn0w so i found 0.8 and downloaded it. I then tried to do it again this time just installing cydia to see if that would make a difference, and when it got to the waiting for reboot... screen it stayed there for about 2 full minutes so I gave up and restored it. I still would like to be able to jailbreak it and be able to change some of the settings but I'm in need of some help with this I guess.

I think that running redsn0w the second time is what caused the problem. Try running redsn0w from a fresh restore and use the latest version (0.8).
