restoring 4s on 5.11
Alright this is probably a stupid question and not the first time i have done this but for some reason I cannot figure it out this time. I am selling my 4s since buying the 5 and want to wipe it out through itunes I have my shsh' and have tried to stitch and everything nothing works I get an aray of different errors. someone please help I have also tried doing it from the phone itself but it just sits on the loading wheel for hours. I want to stay on 5.1.1 so I can re jailbreak it again thanx for your help this is my last resort and im sure its probably something simple that im missing.

Can't be done. If ya clean ya phone off you will have to go to 6.0

why is that? Dev team says iPad3, i4S (and iPad2 owners who don’t satisfy #2) will always be able to RE-restore the current 5.x OS that’s already on their device. So if you’re at 5.1.1 when the window closes (and you’ve saved your blobs), you’ll always be able to RE-restore to 5.1.1 again. This makes the 5.1.1 jailbreak a lot less fragile — you don’t have to worry about messing up your install with funky extensions or getting into a boot loop, because you can always RE-restore from 5.1.1 to 5.1.1 again (or from 5.0.1 to 5.0.1 again, etc). But once you fall off the 5.x train by restoring to 6.x, you’ll be stuck there until the next jailbreak.

Looks like Dev Team says you can restore from 5.1.1 to 5.1.1 again. Did you successfully stitch 5.1.1 blob to 5.1.1 ipsw ?
The only problem now is Iphone 4s cannot use pwned dfu mode, don't know why the Dev Team says it can be done.Last edited by iYeow; 10-01-2012 at 11:21 AM.

Okay, I have an iPhone 4S aswell, the furthest I have ever been able to get with restoring to 5.1.1 is making the stiched .ipsw file of 5.1.1 using the first version of redsn0w that supported it and then using iREB and clicking the iPhone 4 option to put it in Pwned DFU but even with that I can't get it to restore properly :/

I just did this last week with 0.9.15b3 and it went very smooth.
MyLocation App update for 5.1.1 - 6.1.2 from bushe! Incase you are having problems, this app is working fine. You may need an updated location.js file. If it has been updated, and still not updating go to settings/general/reset and reset all settings, this will not affect your JB!

Good thing I searched, I need to do the same exact thing.
So how do you do this stitching thing? Is it an option under redsnow?

Yes it is. There some good step by step directions from them on how to do this.

I get this message when I try the method from the video :/
Im using the latest Redsnow and I've downloaded this firmware for my 4s
5.1.1 (4S): iPhone4,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Is this the right firmware to be used? The phone is currently on 5.1.1
If I do go ahead with the update, will by gevey sim still work with this baseband update?
