and then using Itunes?
The thing is that my phone is not activated so I am kinda wondering if Itunes would read it at all?

Using Pwnage Tool, it is stuck at the "Connect device to USB" screen on the laptop screen. Does it matter if my SIM is in the phone or not?

It is not being read by Itunes or Pwnage Tool..what else can be done at this point? Please don't tell me the phone is bricked.
I have a friend with AT&T sim in an Iphone 3GS. Please tell me how to get this back to iOS at least.

That seems to work. iTunes is restoring iphone firmware. However, I am using the custom firmware from Pwnage Tool so hopefully it will jailbreak. Now, can I unlock this phone using ultrasn0w?

It uploaded the iOS 4.3. I will try to get a custom ipsw again and then try again. If this works, can I unlock the phone with ultrasn0w?

Ok. I am not very clear on this baseband issue of 6.15. Is this a bad thing? Should I wait or should I unlock it? Can you tell me a method to unlock it?

There are some issues with 6.15 its the ipad bb i would wait personally but i dont have an eta. But if you need an unlock you can use it but you will be stuck with that bb forever. Some issue is like gps not working and some data not working
