    Default Not Eligible to Restore?

I have an iPhone 4 which is running FW 4.1, which I'd like to jailbreak. I've jailbroken iPhones before (my old 1G), but I'm not up to date with the current scene.

As far as I can tell, if I want an untethered jailbreak I need to stick with 4.1, so I downloaded the Pwnagetool and ipsw from iClarified. Building the ipsw goes OK, but when I try to restore in iTunes I get an error telling me the phone isn't eligible for the requested build.

What's going on here, and what do I have to do to stop it?

If you are in recovery mode now, use Exit recovery from the feature of tiny umbrella to kick it out, you will now be still at 4.1.
Don't do any restore as you do not have 4.1 shsh blob.
Just jailbreak your 4.1 with Limera1n.

Used Tinyumbrella to save my SHSH, which stopped this error in iTunes. Had a few failed restores so I built a new ipsw with Pwnagetool.

When I tried to restore with this ipsw, it seemed to work but the phone would boot straight back into DFU mode and I couldn't get it out. I tried a couple of times with the same problem. Now when I try to restore with the non-pwned ipsw I get an error 1004.
