PwnageTool for 4.0.1 is it still possible??

Device: iPhone 3gs
Firmware: 3.0.1
Jailbreak tool if used: Not Sure bought it jailbroken
Unlock tool if used: Ultrasn0w
Computer OS: Mac OS X

I was wondering if i could use 4.01 to custom restore it to 4.0.1 without itunes giving me any kinds of errors even thought apple stopped signing the firmware? Cause i don't have the shsh blobs for that firmware only 4.1. And i really don't want to update to 4.1 cause i don't really want to flash the ipad bb to it. any help would be greatly appreciated!! on second thought i do have shsh blobs saved for 4.0.1 but not for the iphone i want to update

You can make a custom 4.1 without the baseband update in it.

so just use PwnageTool but don't choose the option to update bb correct? also would it still work with 4.0.1 firmware?

you got it, you would need an older version of pwnage tool to make a 4.0, I dont think it ever made a 4.0.1.

Using a older version yes you could since you have new bootrom. Once pwned you can stay on the jailbreak train without needing SHSH. However it would be much easier to just use the new method and update to a custom 4.1.
