Default Need the 'go-ahead' to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2.1

Hi guys. I'm on a pwned iPhone 3G with 4.1, unlocked.

I have downloaded the new Pwnage Tool (unlock version) and created a new firmware (4.2.1) with the baseband from the iPad firmware, since I need this phone to be unlocked.

Keep in mind that I am on 4.1 right now. Do I have to upgrade through iTunes to an official 4.2.1 before I upgrade to the pwned 4.2.1? Or should I upgrade to a pwned 4.2.1 without the new baseband first? Or can I go right ahead and use iTunes to upgrade to pwned 4.2.1 with the iPad baseband?

    Thanks!

You mention that you are at 4.1 and unlocked, it means that you have preserve your baseband and in order to preserve this baseband, you need to restore to custom firmware of 4.2.1 without ipad baseband.
If only you have either 05.14 or 05.15 baseband, then you use ipad bb of 6.15 to update for unlock. If you have any BB other than the specified above, then you can just restore to custom firmware to preserve your current unlockable bb.
There are disadvantages of using ipad bb, you can google search and find out.

Wow, i'm glad you reminded me to double check my FW. I have Baseband 5.13.04, so I don't need to use iPad firmware at all, correct?

I can just create a normal pwned 4.2.1 and upgrade directly to that, right? Then use ultrasn0w>?

    Thanks!
